FORMAL LETTERS
Points you want to include:
- Paragraph 1 Open by giving the reason for writing and use formal language to either thank or praise the recipients for giving you an opportunity to take action.
- Paragraphs 2 and 3, identify and outline problems.
- Paragraph 4 suggest a course of action. use formal language to make suggestions and give recommendations, and close the email appropriately
- Adverb collocations to make your feeling strong and persuade the reader.
Reason: I am writing in response to you notice regarding a new preparatory course to support students travelling abroad
Praise: The college is right to recognise the right to address the problem.
It is a real challenge for students to adjust to life abroad, so this course is welcomed.
I highly commend the college’s initiative in taking action to meet the needs of students.
