“My sweet orange tree” is a 2012 Brazilian film based on the novel of the same name which was written by the prolific author José Mauro de Vascounalos.
When an eight year-old boy, Zezé, understands that the only means to escape from a humble house and alcoholic father is to use his imagination and ability to storytelling, little does he hesitate to do it. It is by talking to trees and later on to a grown-up that he finds relief.
No sooner had the first scene started that I already knew it would make me cry a river and cling to my armchair. The film starts with a big long shot where two unaccompanied brothers ramble in an open field. This very fact depicts in a detailed way the labour and suffering we are about to experience. Not only did the scenery remind me of my own childhood but also contributed to creating a stifling atmosphere.
The cast is nothing but superb, suffice to say that the minor, Joao Ávila, gives a solid performance required to make this memorable watch and deserves the highest praise. Were this a professional Hollywood production, he would have won the Oscar for Best Actor.
Likewise, the flawless performance of the supporting actor, José de Abreu, is thoroughly convincing. He totally captures this sense of authenticity by playing the role as Zezé’s best friend without being an indulgent father but a human being that just listens attentively without being judgemental.
With very little money and magnificent work behind the camera, this film is technically impressive. It shows with great accuracy the reality and bright colors of the Brazilian landscape.
Even though the production is totally dramatic, it remains true to the book. In fact, the director has truly transmitted the writer’s intention in being loyal to the child’s voice.
In conclusion, without a doubt whatsoever, it is a coming of age story worth watching. You will get hooked on it from the beginning.

A proposal
There are plans to demolish an old and unused building in the town where you live. You feel that the building should be saved. You decide to write a proposal for the town council explaining why the building should be preserved, suggesting what could be done to modernize it and saying how the building could benefit the local people. 280 words.
INTRODUCTION.
This proposal has been assembled in a bid to assess the feasibility of giving the go ahead to the restoration of the old Can Ribas Factory. It will assess the convenience of its protection, ways in which this renovation can be implemented and the beneficial outcomes it can have in the community.
THE FACTORY AS A LANDMARK.
Surveys carried out show that the vast majority of residents are delighted with the construction. This is mainly due to two key factors. The first is the visibility from a far distance of its tapering chimney, which in turn is a historical heritage of the neighborhood. The second, and this one much more emotional, is the union between present and past. In fact, elderly people's connection with their descendants is clearly shown in the transmission of their culture and values.
RESTORATION.
It is completely obvious that the large premises of the different buildings pose a huge challenge to its conservation and restoration. However, this preservation could be handled with an open competition. Furthermore, this urban project could also be undertaken in different stages. Be as it may, an innovative and imaginative idea could be to create open spaces, squares and social housing. In doing so, the cost of the reshaping will be significantly reduced.
CONCLUSION
Should the council decide to maintain this classical architecture, the benefits would be great. It will not only diminish the neighborhood's physical isolation and barriers of this deteriorated area but it will create a sense of belonging to a community.

Proposal.
Improving the organization of the local festivities.
This proposal is intended to improve the organization of the local festivities, and suggest ways that a better planning and anticipation of problems could help with many issues concerning the development of these special days.
Problems when it comes to our festivities.
An overlook to the different social media shows that people were angry because there was not any previous information about the change in road signs. Moreover, during the festivities there were a lack of traffic officers and nearly half also commented there were no parking spaces. Other problems cited included teenagers groups destroying plants in particular houses and screaming as they were moving from the open air-dance to the pubs.
Ways better planning could address these.
A public announcement on the local radio, website of the council and social media explaining the shortcuts, which streets and roads will be diverted and a map showing alternatives to these inconveniences could be provided. Besides, to aid people finding a parking space, some areas could be conditioned. In addition, the area where the nightlife takes place could be reconsidered.
Recommendations.
I would like to make the following recommendations:
Make a video showing diversions of traffic and alternatives for these specific days.
Provide a list of places where one can park. If there are not enough parking spaces, try to reach an agreement with the owners of lands close to the main entrances of the village.
Facilitate a discussion with responsibilities of the nightlife in order to group all these in the same place.
If these recommendations are implemented, both locals and tourists are bound to feel more comfortable and secure.
